Page Data Folders
Use page data folders for data specific to a page
Page data folders represent data associated with a single specific page.
A page data folder can be linked to more than one page but the data you add to it will be only associated with the page it is linked to.
Creating a page data folder
To create a page data folder, you need to have access to the "Data" perspective.
- From the "Data" perspective, select "Page Datafolders" and click "Add Datafolder" on the toolbar. A data type editor opens.
- On the "Settings" tab, specify the page data folder's properties and, where needed, check the options. (For the data type's properties and options, please see "General Properties of Data Types".)
- On the "Fields" tab, add as many fields as you need and specify its basic and advanced properties on the corresponding tabs. (For the data type's properties and options, please see "Basic Field Properties" and "Advanced Field Properties".)
- Save the data folder.
Linking a page data folder to a page
To able to use a data folder, you need to link it to a page in the "Content" perspective:
- From the "Content" perspective, expand "Websites" and then pages to locate the page where you want to add the data folder.
- Right-click the page and select "Add Datafolder" in the context menu.
- In the window that appears, select the data folder to add to the page.
- Click "Finish".
Adding data to a page data folder
To add data to a page data folder:
- From the "Content" perspective, expand "Websites", then pages to locate the page with the data folder.
- Expand this page and select the data folder below it.
- Click "Add Data" on the toolbar. The data form opens.
- Specify values in the corresponding fields on the form.
- Click "Save" or "Save and Publish".
Adding or editing a data item of a page data folder is no different from that of a global data type.
